Islamabad police arrived at former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's Zaman Park residence in Lahore on Sunday with his arrest warrant in connection with the Toshakhan case, reported. However, the police were unable to arrest Khan as he was not at home when they arrived.

This comes days after the arresting court issued a non-bailable warrant against him in the Toshakhan case for repeated failure to appear in court. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has appealed to all party workers to immediately reach Imran Khan's residence and stop his probable arrest.

Sources said the ousted prime minister will be arrested after all legal requirements are met.

PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry said, “Any attempt to arrest Imran Khan will seriously worsen the situation.” “I want to warn this incompetent and anti-Pakistan government not to push Pakistan into another crisis and act sensibly,” he added.

Imran Khan was accused of illegally selling gifts he received as prime minister from a state depository called Toshakhana. He was due to appear for a hearing in the case last week, but failed to do so. His lawyers said they would suggest the court quash the warrant because he was delayed by three court appearances throughout the day.

In the arrest warrant, Imran Khan was directed to be present in court by March 7 after he is remanded in custody. The Inspector General of Islamabad has issued an order to ensure that Imran Khan is arrested today, according to a report.
